My name is Michael, and I’m six years old. I have mild autism, but I don’t let that stop me from enjoying life.
I have a real ZEST for life!
In many ways, I’m just like any other little boy. I love to run super-fast, laugh, and have fun. I enjoy jumping, stomping my feet, clapping, and playing with my favorite toys. I also have a few unique ways of expressing myself, like flapping my hands, walking on my tiptoes, or tilting my head when I’m trying to understand something.
I may do things a little differently sometimes, but that’s just part of what makes me, ME. I’m a happy, energetic, loving autistic child who loves to explore, play, and experience the world around me!
I receive speech therapy and occupational therapy to help me learn, grow, and become the very best version of myself. And, of course, I need plenty of love, hugs, and kisses along the way! My mom does an amazing job of supporting my needs and making sure I always feel loved, encouraged, and celebrated.
She often calls me her “Bluebird.” Bluebirds are often associated with happiness, joy, harmony, and positivity—and that’s exactly what she sees in me.
I hope that as you read my books, I bring a little more joy, happiness, and positivity into your day.
Thank you for supporting me, believing in me, and cheering me on as I continue to learn, grow, and reach my goals. Your encouragement means more than you know!
With love,
Michael 💙
